One of the biggest hurdles when working with children is recognizing that their behavior is not happening to us as adult, but instead it is happening in front of us. In order to do that we must first listen to the thoughts and feelings we are having about what we see and have the tools to regulate those thoughts and feelings. We will explore adult self care so that we are able to respond to upset students instead of react. We will also share specific tools that can be taught to children to guide them to regulate their big feelings instead of act on them.
