Measuring Worthy Things in Manageable Ways.

First, it matters what we are measuring. Second, we need to make sure we are writing outcomes in measurable ways. Third, after we take our goals through the "four filters" we need to determine how manageable it is to take performance data. In this session, we will look at baselines beyond numbers and engage in an IEP makeover session. We will also rethink SMART goals and how to select performance monitoring data.

Learner objectives

Attendees will:

1. Explore the purposes of the IEP and determine a good present level of performance

2. Re-examine the concept of disability vs. human difference.

3. Examine data collection for purpose and manageability.

4. Explore strategies to differentiate instruction for ALL learners.
